#461035 New Gps Tracker Has Arrived...

Posted by Jeff4155 on 04 March 2015 - 01:32 PM

interresting, a tracker system came with the purchase of my insurance. I was very surprised at how accurate the system is, showing me all sorts of data by logging into their web site like:

avg. speed travelled per day/month/year

brakeing harshly

exact time within seconds when car was started/stopped

It uses Google to show were exactly I have travelled and were the car is at any given time.

To this day I have no idea were exactly they installed the tracker and what the damn thing looks like, but at least I know its working as it should.

Negatives about it is, I can't go race my car around a track without the inssurance knowing were I have been, which in my case doesn't bother me mutch

I have a tracker in the car, thanx to my insurance, but who knows what they will do to try and steel a car

Lucky for me we don't have to do MOT's in SA, sure if the car has been modified beyond recognition they will pull you over and impound your car, but there is no way that they would even know that the car came or didn't come with HID (Xenons) this side of the pond, as long as you have them in projector type lights and they are not neon blue/purple (8000k-12000k). my 6000k lights looks exactly like the new Merc xenon lights, colour wise, sure there are other cars which HID's are whiter, hens why I say above anything between 4000k and 6000k would still be viewed as legal and looks like an OEM part

Would also recommend HID's, I too just wanted a tint of blue, so went for the 6000k HID's, personally I wouldn't go any higher, between 4000k and 6000k is white - white blueish

#449852 Fiesta Has Gone Rusty!

Wax on, wax off.....Polish the car regularly

Keep the car clean and fix any scrape marks, worked for my 17 year old Conquest and she is still running around town with a new owner.

This was taken 1week before I sold her

#446856 Stupid Deal

Posted by Jeff4155 on 21 January 2015 - 10:18 AM

I have always been one to purchase cars, my last 96 model Toyota Conquest Sport I kept around for 10 years and 3 months before selling it for 500 pounds less than what I payed for it 10 years before, who new that old car would become a classic :D

It was great not having car payments for about 8 years, but felt after 230 000km I needed something new. I wanted something similiar to what I had before and the Fiesta ticked all the right boxes for me, I will probably sell the car in two years time before the value starts declineing, or keep it for another 10 years and sell it as a classic ;)

#444611 Speaker Making Rattling Noise Sounds Blown

Posted by Jeff4155 on 14 January 2015 - 01:39 PM

I think the speakers work the same as globes do, they can't really guarentee them. I'f you play your music at it's max it won't last as long as someone playing it at the bottom end of the hearing spectrim, personally if mine went I wouldn't bother with standard OEM products, I think the after market speakers are way better and in some cases cheaper, depending on the make. I replaced the front 5inch speakers in the doors of my old Toyota Conquest with Sony's and they were mutch better, that was 12 years ago, so I'm sure the products have improved even more sins then.

I think it would look a bit funny, rather do the proper cut out of the rear defuser and have it come out straight like the ST does

#427729 Is It Just Me?

Did I just find a wormhole in Space and time? or did the Doc mess with my Fiesta and converted it into a Delorean DMC?

#425009 What Do You Like Better Mk7 Or Mk7.5?

Posted by Jeff4155 on 03 November 2014 - 09:37 AM

I think it all depends on the model you choose, if you compare a MK7 high spec car with a low spec MK7.5, the chances are good the MK7 will win, personally for me the price won me over with the High Spec MK 7 in my budget with 30k km on the clock still cheaper than the lowest MK 7.5 new out of the box, like I said before, the only way I'll trade up is if its a ST model

#399825 Gel Badge Overlays

Posted by Jeff4155 on 20 August 2014 - 09:26 AM

I personally like mine, I think its all about the colour combo you choose, I send my paint specs to the guy who does them in SA and he matched the colour up perfectly, I'f they looked out of place I would have taken them off in a sec, but in all honesty the standard Blue badge looks out of place with the Blue colour of the car, just by looking at them you won't even notice they are only Gels, but then again if I had gone for something like red font with yellow background on the blue car, it would have been a different story.
