Ford aren't prepared to fix the other side as a gesture of goodwill. I have their assurance that this is not a problem they are aware of <_< I have that assurance from Ford customer service, the Ford dealer and their head office.

I haven't heard from Watchdog even though I emailed them.

The car is back on the road, lets hope I don't hit too many potholes  and that I don't have to come back and tell you the other side has gone.

Good luck to you all and if I can be of any help to you, let me know.

storm, did you not read the other threads on this?ford are pulling the wool over your eyes.they have actually owned up to the fact that there is a problem,do not let this rest.it is dangerous that they have only done 1 side.keep pestering watchdog, just explain that some customers are getting both sides repaired & yet others [you included] are not.this is totally wrong.they are putting you & your passengers at risk.if need be use this forum to prove to ford that other ford dealerships are repairing the fiestas foc.

good news.. lets hope many others read this thread.

Surely they will have a recall now?

Hey did anybody see watchdog tonight?,thousands of mk 1 focus have a huge problem on the instrument cluster panel.they are failing because of a bad design.guess what.....FORD RECKON THEY HAVEN'T A PROBLEM....HAVE WE NOT HEARD THIS BEFORE?let's keep up and get in touch with watchdog about these coilsprings on the fiesta which is a bigger safety problem than the instrument cluster on the focus.SEEMS TO ME THAT FORD DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

Hi i am still fighting with my car. Last week i was told my problem was down to wear and tear due to speed humps, pot holes and road conditions, so Ford Direct are not offering anything towards the cost as a gesture of good will.
So i spoke to the ford garage that have got my car to arrange to have my car picked up as i have had a quote elsewhere a lot cheaper and they have now said it is not down to wear and tear they would not have said that but a manufacturing defect and they are aware of as they have had an email it effects cars btween the dates of 2003 and early 2008. They have now updated the information with ford direct to state it is a manufactoring defect so i am now waiting to hear back.

Hi twick,GREAT news you should now get both sides done free of charge,PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT BOTH COILSPRINGS ARE REPLACED IT IS REALLY THAT IMPORTANT.
TO ALL OTHER FORUM MEMBERS WITH THIS PROBLEM KEEP ON AT YOUR FORD DEALERSHIP AND ALL AFFECTED CARS SHOULD HAVE BOTH COILSPRINGS REPLACED FOR FREE,SLOWLY FORD ARE OWNING UP TO THIS PROBLEM.
I would like to say a HUGE THANKYOU to the people who set up this forum as i have no doubt that without this forum maybe alot of people would have not had their cars repaired FOC.
storm take notice ,as twick has proven keep going and you will get your car repaired free of charge.

I spoke to customer service today and she is ringing back tomorrow re. repairing other side - I'll let you know what happens. The Ford dealer that repaired it quoted 120.00 for the other side. They are very difficult to deal with - that is for sure!

Storm please contact watchdog again explain the hassle you are having & that they only repaired one side.what they have done is dangerous and puts your life at risk.
