really worried about this creaking that has recently started. It is coming from under my gearstick. when i move it from side to side in neutral it creaks, as if it is needing oiled. but you can hear it from outside the car just the same if not a bit louder. When you put it into 3rd gear it creaks a we bit too? 
Is this serious. Is there an oil sump that might need lubricated, im not sure. Any ideas, please help me.
