Speedometer Not Working

Hi all, I hope someone can help. My wife started the car today and the speedo was not giving her speed and the milage is just showing --------. Has any one else had this problem. I have checked every fuse in the car and they are all fine. I don't have any books etc for car as I bought it from the market and got nothing other than a key with it.

I am totally useless with cars( I can change wheels, bulbs etc but thats as far as it goes.

I just dont want to be ripped off from a garage if this is an easy fix.

Windscreen

Hi all,

I bought my car from the market 2 years ago. Since I have owned this car there has been marks on the windscreen where the market put there signs ( 1 lady owner etc). Can any one tell me if there is a film on the inside of the window as no matter what i use to clean it i cannot get rid of these marks. I have tried lots of sprays and scrapping window with a stanley knife blade but with no success. So i am thinking they have removed something from the screen when they removed the stickers.

Do i need to bit the bullet and buy a new windscreen or has anyone got a solution they can share with me.

I hope someone can help
