According to the handbook there are three types of keys, Remote Control with flip blade, Remote Control with fixed blade and a basic key with fixed blade. My 1.25 Zetec, which was dealer stock, came with a Remote Fixed Blade Key and a basic non-remote Key. Are uncut remote flip blade keys only available as an accessory?
I understand these new keys have carbon chips, which my dealer tells me only they can programme - for around £180 . However AUTOKEYS advertise a cutting and programming service which includes carbon chip keys. Has anyone had experience of Autokeys?
I hope I'm not repeating the bleeding obvious, but for those patient souls who are awaiting delivery of their new pride and joy I came across this link to an online Owners Handbook
Evening all. I'm taking delivery a 1.25 Zetec 5 door in Tango on Monday. Although a bit long in the tooth I have been seduced by the new Fiesta. It's only my third Ford, the first being a 1947 V8 Pilot, which I bought for £50 in 1957, and the second was an almost new 1978 Cortina 2.0 Ghia Estate. I have also benefitted from Ford's massive investment in Jaguar with a 2001 XKR, a 2008 XF 2.7D Premium Luxury and my current wheels - an XF 3.0D S Portfolio.
