Lovely Michael. Any chance of a shot of the interior? I had a Corsa D rental and the interior was particularly pleasant I seem to remember.

In fairness the site became a lot less amusing when Piggy left. He actually came back to gloat about something a couple of months back.

I've got the same problems with the quickclear and auto wipers - they swipe the iced over screen when the area next to to sensor has melted - in the process wrecking your wiper blades and no doubt the wiper motor. Also, sometimes a ray of light through the trees makes them swipe. Bit odd.

They work perfectly 95% of the time though.

I had a 1.25 mk6 with aircon and having it on used to seriously labour the car! I don't know exactly how much power the aircon demands but the car would drive really sluggishly below about 2.5k revs and then feel fairly normal towards the top of the rev range. It actually felt a little bit like turbo lag - but the worlds worst turbo!

Is this anything like you're experiencing as it might just be normal? Is the engine hunting under load or just whilst idling?

I actually use the cruise control much more than I ever thought I would, having never had a car with that feature before.

It seems to me that you naturally adapt to using it in the same way that you learn to use the foot pedals when you're learning to drive, the only difference being that you can't regulate speed as easily as using the acc pedal, and have to have a longer field of vision to avoid braking. Adaptive cruise control would be brilliant, but I'd be worried that the system would keep braking the car on the motorway - something which does my head in.
