#154008 Fiesta Rs Style Project

Posted by cyb on 26 November 2011 - 08:39 AM

for what it is worth ... posting a link to another site displaying information about about your car is rather lazy and as a first post more than a little disrespectful to the members of this forum - this goes for any forum and is frowned upon throughout the internet in the same way as posting replies in CAPITAL LETTERS.

Having said the I think the OP would not have expected the following 'argumentative' posts and may now feel unwelcomed. :(

to Shedmanyr01093 I say welcome :) but please give us the info (copy and paste if you like) rather than a link

- to the rest of you this is still a good forum with many friendly members but sometimes perhaps we ALL need to think before posting negative feedback.

don't think it has auto wipers coz it seems to have the 4 different speed settings.

should have- you can tell by looking at the windscreen, sensor is in front of the mirror, but I can't see it as someone has parked a low spec zetec in the way :D

I'm not seeing what you's see about the corsa's interior at all. Its just a flat slab of buttons and a small screen.
I know some of the fiestas interior items are a little cheap and clicky, but at least it has shape to it and you can see some design has went into it..... or is it just me(?)

(slating over) sorry

design wise yes the Fiesta has the edge but the Corsa interior has a better quality feel to the plastics, switches and metal door openers. Even the seats feel like they will last and take some abuse, but I wouldn't swap :)

#130775 Things I Don't Have

I have all except the parking sensors, and find ALL very useful.
Of course you don’t NEED any of these but…

Cruise – comes in handy when you have a stretch of road covered by average speed cameras and for motorway travel, set it and watch the road not your speedo.

Folding mirrors – garage entrance is a bit tight and modern cars have got wider. Reversing out with the mirrors folded means I can watch where I’m going not the mirror/ garage door

Rain Sensor – yes ok we all have hands, but for the times when you overtake a truck on a motorway or a bus or HGV is coming in the opposite direction and chucks a wave load of water on your screen and the wipers kick up speed automatically while you keep your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road - a great idea that works well

Heated Window Screen – first time I’ve had a car with one on and last winter it proved its worth. Many a time I have defrosted my window screen using the normal scraper/ de-icer to find as soon as I start off down the road the cold air ices up the screen making it difficult to see where you are going. Heated screen saves all the faff and I'm really going to miss it during the winter months if I buy a non-ford.

All–in-all each of these ‘extras’ are there to help you and they certainly do.

#127031 Any Legal Brain Boxes On Here?

You are not responsible for somebody elses debt. The fact that she lived there for a period of time does not make any difference as she does not own any part of your home or anything kept there.

I suggest that you return to sender any further mail anotated "Does not live at this address" and avoid getting involved in any further communication with any company involving your ex.

Should debt collectors or similar turn up, you only have to tell them that the woman they are trying to recover from has not lived at that address for two years. You do not need to explain your relationship to them.

Good advice, and the only thing I can add to that is unless you have written permission DON’T open anymore of her mail, just write on it as suggested ‘does not live here anymore’ and stick it back into a post box.

Which one looks better?

Left one makes the front look a bit cluttered to me

Cheers for the pics and advice :D
Going to go up and speak to he guy during the week and possibly book it in :P

I would go for the back three but I'm not sure I would opt for limo black - it can make the car look more like a van if the rears are too dark

#84007 Service History Advice Needed

Thinking on Daves point about it being a CI car – could it be an ex-mobility car?

These are cars that are adapted for disable drivers under a government scheme and are sometimes returned to be sold because they were unsuitable or unused/no longer required.

You can often tell ex-mobility cars as the have some strange small holes around the drivers side of the car where the steering/accelerator has been adapted, you might find for example screw head covers missing of the drivers door pull?

Or it could simply be someone who has returned the car because of a change in circumstances, i.e. redundancy, and they can no longer afford it.

#83925 Service History Advice Needed

I am after some advice re my new (to me) & beautiful Fiesta. She is a 58 plate with 5000 miles registered October 2008.

I asked to see the service book etc. The salesman told me he would need to order one for me as it was lost, however they had the full service history on the computer. so it would be just be a case of restamping the book.

I hear this so often I’m beginning to think on a future series of ‘Time Team’ instead of lost Roman coins they will be digging up service manuals. :)

Then to issue you one with the wrong vin number is just taking the pee.

Are there any details on the v5 of the previous owner? Could you give them a call and ask about the car, including ‘can you remember how many miles the car had done? - remember don’t tell them the mileage ask them.

I don’t suppose there’s any clues on the car as to which dealer originally sold it ( i.e. sticker in back window or name on number plate?) ? You could give them a call and see if they serviced it and at what mileage?
