you should be ok with the bearing as long as the hub is not abused too much.

personally i would remove the hub to get the proper persuation from a workbench/vice as the studs can be tight,i have heard that it can be done without removal but have never done it thatway myself and you may have to remove the hub eventually because the stud will not remove.
