Loading... The Royal Hospital provided a rather fitting venue for Chelsea AutoLegends.
The grade one listed building shared several things with the cars that it was hosting.
The grounds are beautiful, extremely well kept and a cherished piece of national heritage, the same as cars like the E-Types and DB5s placed around the displays.
Being in the Royal Hospital, visitors were joined by the famous Chelsea Pensioners who call this place home and who were clearly enjoying the festivities.
And they loved to get involved with the goings on, like when we got a snap of a Pensioner in the company of the very glamorous bunny girls who were roaming the grounds all day.
One of the highlights of the day came as a bit of a parting gift as a 1990 Benetton F1 car roared into life in the last half hour of the show.
Needless to say the sound of the F1 V8 screaming away was both deafening, amazing, and a great way to round off our trip to this most unique of central London experiences.
All in all it was an excellent day.
And we were not the only ones who though it went rather well.
Chelsea AutoLegends organiser, Max Wakefield said: “Each year, we get bigger and better and we had to turn away some really fantastic vehicles, such was the quality of the cars and bikes we already had on show.
“A really positive result for what is only the third year of the event.”
The setting couldn't have been much better than the idyllic Royal Hospital Chelsea.
A bit more sunshine would have been nice I am sure but then again this is the tail end of a British summer so maybe we are wishing for a bit much there.
