    Body parts! Connect sport

Hi Anybody know if the bumper splitter trims from a current connect sport will fit onto a mk2, and where I can get them if they do? Ta J
  3. Hi I have a 2011 mondeo titanium x that I’ve just bought, it comes up front light malfunction when started up and doesn’t go off, all lights are working, I’ve replaced the front headlamp levelling sensor but it still come on front headlight malfunction, I’ve been told there’s another sensor at the back if that’s replaced would it fix it? If not I don’t want to pay out another £130 if it could be something else causing it, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

    Keyless Starting Issue

You need a Windows Laptop, the software FORScan (free) and a 'vLinker FS' connecting cable and then you can read the Ford diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) FORScan: https://www.forscan.org/download.html vLinker FS: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP
  5. Greetings all, first post. I hope someone can offer some wisdom please! I've had a 2011 1.6 Petrol C-Max for a couple of months and this issue has occurred twice out of nowhere whilst driving on clear road. The traction control warning light comes on and I get a system warning about the hill start assist not being available. Then the engine starts chugging like an old steam engine, and cuts out completely if I slow down and leave it idling. By keeping the revs up I just about manage to limp home with the engine feeling really jerky, and like it's going to stall while idling at junctions. No engine warning light, only the traction control light and the warning about hill start assist! Next day all fine. Did a 160 mile round motorway trip last weekend - fine, 3 times a week motorway commute about half hour each way - fine. But then this has happened just twice at random doing similar sort of drive. An eBay special code reader is showing "P0174 System Too Lean Bank 2", "P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1", "P2193 System Too Lean at Higher Load Bank 2" "P2191 System Too Lean at Higher Load Bank 1". Took it to Ford dealer who say there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with it and I'd have to visit while it's actually doing it, which is easier said than done! It's in lovely condition, 68k, but really worried I've bought a banger. Any bright ideas? Thanks for reading!

    Rear bulb help

I noticed the light out last night, so I just assumed its the side light? Is it the bottom bulb in the cluster?

    Rear bulb help

No, would be the quick answer. Day Running Lights (DRL) are lights fitted to the front of the vehicle only. They are bright and are always on when the engine is running. Sidelights as we referred to them in the UK were small lamps at the front and rear of the vehicle and were typically 5 Watt. Since the changes in vehicle lighting regulations many years ago now, the use when driving of using only sidelights is no longer allowed. At night and in poor visibility like heavy rain then you must use dipped headlights, which also turn on the rear tail lights. For this reason, the term "Sidelights" has been replaced with the term "Parking lights" and as the name suggests they can now only be used on there own when parked.

    FORScan issues, again.

Just need to confirm a couple of things. You are using a Laptop with genuine Windows installed, and not some other device ? The lead you are using to connect is a "vLinker FS" like the one in this link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP

    FORScan issues, again.

Nothing looks wrong there. Has your cable definitely got the FTDI chip? There are different drivers for different chips.
  12. I'll keep looking. I remember seeing the answer posted about 3 years ago but just can't find away to search the forum for it.

    Automatic headlights 2016 CMax

Automatic headlights were only standard on Titanium and above at this age. You would need to have the windscreen replaced with one that includes the light sensor mount in order to retrofit the automatic function.

    Rear bulb help

For Mk8 Fiesta: There are no daylight running lights at the rear. On lower spec models the stop & tail light is a P21/5W bulb. You do have to fully remove the light for access to change it. On higher spec models the stop & tail lights are LED and not replaceable.
  16. To my disbelief my headlights do not have a automatic function and this is really annoying. Can I buy them??
  17. Hello all, over the last few days i have noticed a faint thudding noise when slowing down in low revs. Its appears to speed up and slow down with the speed of the car. Haven’t noticed any other noises or the noise being exaggerated when turning a particular way, only when slowing down. It pretty quiet but definitely noticeable. any suggestions before i have to put in the garage. thanks

    Rear bulb help

Which bulb in the rear cluster is the daylight running? I assume thats another yerm for a side light? Fiesta ecooboost 67 plate. I assume you have to remove the whole light fitting to get to the bulbs. Its a P21/5w according to the handbook.

    Mk7 Coolant

Ok after working at a Ford dealership for 2 years I can tell you this, If you have a 1 litre ecoboost engine and it is losing coolant you NEED to get it checked out, the first symptom of an ecoboost engine failure is usually coolant loss I've seen thermostat housings being replaced due a leak from a crack and it turned out that the engine was toast, I've seen Turbo's leaking water and I've also seen coolant hose leaks all due to and internal failure of the 1.0Lite ecoboost engine, Ford would not let us investigate or strip down the engines if we reported these issues and up until fairly recently the engine would just be replaced under warranty, Ford have now moved the goal posts regarding engines under a warranty claim and all sorts of information is now required before they will even give a CONTRIBUTION towards the cost of a new engine. Those engines are the worst engines ford has ever made what with the wet belt degrading and causing engine failures through oil starvation (blocking the sump oil strainer) and overheating and coolant loss is also one of the first symptoms of engine failure. Our Ford trained Master Technician told me if I got the 1.0 ecoBoost engine to change the oil every 4-5K miles RELIGOUSLY. I've got a 2015 Mk7 fiesta but I opted for the 1.25 Zetec engine due to their reliability provided they are serviced more regularly than Ford say they should be I do an oil and filter change every 6-8K miles, If you've got a 1.0 EcoBoost get rid of it they are a ticking time bomb, Ford say they have fixed the issues on the newer EcoBoost engines but that is total crap I've seen the technical service bulletins for those engines. The design of the engine has not changed since the day they were released.
  20. Hello everyone, I hope some of you can help me with this problem. I got a 2008 Mondeo(i love it so much) but unfortunately when i drive on the highway's the car goes into limp mode and the ESP turns off while I'm in the 5th or 6th gear at speeds above 100km/h. It's not consistent as well, sometimes the cars drives perfectly with no problems at high speeds but sometimes i just cant go more thank 2 km's on the highway without limp mode being enabled. I looked in the hidden diagnostic menu and found these 2 codes. DTC #01 C41568 DTC #02 C41668 Can i have a little help to what they mean and a possible fix? (Sorry for the bad English, it's not my native language)

    MK4 Focus ST-Line Fog light

Cheers mate, I'll give it a look over the weekend and get back to you. Nothing on YouTube for a MK4 which is a surprise!
  22. Anyone know a reasonable garage in Scotland to change my daughters timing belt due this year.

    MK4 Focus ST-Line Fog light

Can you get any purchase on the raised part in the middle? If you can grip that tightly and pull it straight back it should release the clips around the edge. Will be very tight as it's probably never been off. Could also try a thin tool along the top, like a butter knife shape, but obviously take care not to damage either part. Otherwise it might be best to wait for someone that's actually done it to confirm. Though I'm 95% sure that is the correct method.

    FORScan issues, again.

Can anyone tell me if I’ve done something wrong here when downloading and installing FORScan, I just can’t seem to get this thing working for the life of me. I’ve uploaded some pics to show what I’ve done but still nothing. It just won’t connect to the car, someone said I could be having an issue with the electrics in the car and I have a transmission malfunction on the dash the ELM connector I’m using is a VLink I think is the name of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Dynamic lines on aftermarket reverse camera

If you can find the details that would be fantastic. Since my Sync 3 upgrade I can't get the dynamic lines to appear even with all OEM components (though mine is a 12/13 MK3 with Sync 3 retrofit). No amount of coding helps. I don't even get the red/yellow/green or the centre line except if I start the car when it's in reverse they'll appear for a second or two then disappear.
