Black front grill or not?

Featured Replies

Here is my Titanium when I bought it.

I’ve since added black alloy wheels and want to wrap or paint the chrome window trims, the problem is the front grille, I’d like that black too. Now do I wrap/paint that and keep the titanium looks or buy a zetec style grille?

I know it’s personal preference and I do prefer the zetec grille but that would lose the cars identity although I do have a titanium badge I’ve yet to fit.

Whay do you guys reckon? What would you do?

What do your insurers say?  Their opinion is far more important than ours.

The honeycomb grille does suit better imo.
I wouldn't be able to stand my ST with a slat grille, it just wouldn't look right.

This is going to sound rude no matter how I put it but it really isn't meant that way, please don't take offence. Why is it so important that you make sure people know it is a Titanium edition?

Oh god no. Maybe the other way round.

Honeycomb defo looks better than the slats and an ecoboost emblem maybe?

I’ve bit the bullet and ordered a honeycomb grille, it has a chrome outer ring on it but I reckon I could paint or plastidip that.

The eco boost badge would be pointless as it isn’t an eco boost engine.

Oh thought it was lol oh well. Yeh either plastidip or more permanent plasticote.

Plasticote or plastidip is probably the best way to go, nice and easy and quick too.

Yes it would fit yours. There’s a similar version with a chrome outer ring for £10 less. They pop out with a plastic trim tool (or kitchen knife if you’re careful)

this video shows you how, it’s a bit long winded.

Mine arrives today, looking forward to seeing it on the car.

I had the rs version in gloss blaxk from underground on eBay for my MK2.5 Titanium and it changed look of car instantly. Alot meaner and vast improvement.

Hi guy's could anyone tell me if the honeycomb grille on a mk 3.5 focus st line pops off. Or do you have to remove the bumper?

Any info would be appreciated
