Fitting a bike in the boot?

Featured Replies

Just wanted to hear if anyone has tried fitting a normal adult sized bicycle in the boot of the Fiesta, and whether it's doable? (With the rear seats down ofc)

Yip its do-able - I can fit my SUN GT 10XL racing bike no problem - you could also take the wheels off that makes it much easier you dont even need to fold the seats down - most bikes now have quick release wheels so no need to get the spanners or socket set out either!

I can just about get my mountain bike in with it's front wheel removed. It's not easy but it's possible. That's with the rear seats folded down and the passenger front seat quite far forward. I have the bike handlebars behind the passenger front seat and the bikes rear wheel nearest the boot lid. My mountain bike is quite old so it's not the sort with the larger 29" wheels.

As said above its double but as I do it fairly often 4/5 times a month I've invested in a roof mounted carrier. Takes less than 20 seconds to mount dismount and you don't end up trashing the interior.

Thanks a bunch for the quick responses - I'll give it a try when I find a bike I like :-)
