Part missing from right side of steering column of 2012 Focus Titanium 125

I've recently acquired a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium 125, with keyless ignition. I've noticed recently though that the place where the keyed ignition point would be is missing a fascia plate or something. See attached photo. Does anyone happen to know what this part is called (or even a part number) and how I could go about getting one?

Go to your local ford dealer couple of quid and push on the part

With regard to part number no idea but perhaps check out eBay / breakers yard!

I thought there was a key barrel behind there...  What do you do if the fob batteries run out?

Is the emergency key not a "passive" item, i.e. hold up to the column and press the start button? The blade is just for the doors iirc, but I may be wrong!

That seems to be correct.  The handbook for this vehicle states; If the passive key battery is flat, insert the key into the key holder and press the power button. The key blade is not mentioned.

You take the end off the key and physically put the fob into the hole.
There is a back-up transponder sensor there.

Got the part number (Finis code) for you-

1467074, about £10.

If you go to a Ford dealerships parts counter they can order it for you using the Finis code or order off eBay here-

Ah I see, makes sense.  Was wondering why they'd leave the ugly hole/blank there if there was nothing behind it lol.  I can see the 'cage' in the hole now, just looked flat when I first saw the pic.
