HAS YOUR FIESTA 1.5TDCI GONE WRONG?

Featured Replies

I have a 2.5yr old Fiesta mk7.5 1.5tdci which is due a service at 34,500 miles (it's out of sync as the first service was done 3k miles early when I bought the car - service interval is 12.5k miles).

It's inconvenient for me to get the service done at a garage due to my personal circumstances . I can do the stuff myself easily but that invalidates the rest of the 3yr warranty.

So I am trying to gauge what the chances of an issue arising in the next 6 months/8k miles that would have been covered by the warranty had I kept it valid (I have checked that there are no o/s recalls on this car).

So, what problems have people had in the 3 year warranty period that have been fixed under warranty?  Note that this is the 1.5 diesel and not a petrol ecoboost, I know the petrol ecoboost has had problems caused by split plastic cooling pipes and rusty cooling pipes on the turbo.

Please let me know what problems you have had

Mine is a 13 plate 1.5 tdci also. It is now coming up to it 125,000 mile service. It has never missed a beat. I do about 35,000 miles a year and can say this is the most reliable car I’ve had.

In all my time reading Fiesta/Focus forum on here I don't recall people having problems with any cars under 3 years old other than 1 litre ecoboost engine.

Hope you are doing the timing belt on yours if not already done.  I did the belt on my previous 1.6tdci and it was quite easy compared to many other engines, as the bottom pulley has a woodruff key on the crankshaft, many engines do not have the key so require very careful timing correctly.  I think the 1.5tdci should be the same to do as 1.6tdci.
