diegohazza32
Hi, sorry for the pestering posts new, trying to improve my car the best way I can. I currently have steels on that look like 15" I was some alloys like 17" ones, would i have to get the brakes changed or is it just a swap
zain611
You wouldn't need to change the brakes. You might suffer from a harsher ride due to having slimmer tires if you fit 17 inch wheels on. Also make sure they have the same stud layout.
isetta
topical comment due to pot holes everywhere at present - if you have larger wheels with lower profile tyres you are much more likely to damage the tyre and wheel on a pothole as not so much rubber to cushion the blow. And as mentioned above - a harsher ride. And technically you need to tell your insurance company. If you want to make it look nicer but not spend quite so much and not have the problems associated with the lower profile tyres you could just get some fiesta zetec 15 ich alloys wheels. zain611
I'm actually planning on giving adrian flux a ring nearer to the time of my renewal. I also heard sky insurance is also good. One of my friends uses sky insurance and their modified car insurance and he pays just £10 less compared to me with 3 mods declared.
isetta
with insurance there is never one company that is best for all. there are so many factors , age of driver, area you live in, group rating of car (and some insurance companies vary these according to their experience), different NCD scales etc etc which means that different insurance companies come out cheaper depending on the combination of all of the factors.
williamweb
I appreciate most insurance cover is not the same as said above.I had a good experience with LV car insurance.A good price paid with alloys,a few suspension mods added and no hassle.👍
