Hi guys,

Just wondering does anyone with a 2015 Red Edition experience a whining noise coming from their gearbox? Is this normal, I shouldn't think it is?

Hope someone can help as it's out of warranty since June 2017 and will need to start looking for a reconditioned one to put into the car.  

Seems a bit weird as there's only 23500 miles on the car?

Definitely not normal, get it booked in under warranty.

Any mods to the engine at all? Some remaps do cause problems

I was told by Ford that it's out of warranty.

No just there standard 1.0l 140bhp nothing done to it!!

If you got the car from new see if you can get some help off ford, they won't cover the cost but might help towards it

Definitely get it looked at, whining noisy gearbox could be a bearing on the way out.

If it didn't do it from new or didn't do it when you got the car, you have nothing modified and it makes the noise now, that isn't normal.

23500 miles may be nothing if the car and box have been hammered.

2015 car will be in warranty until at least 2018.

If you've always had it serviced by Ford they usually help you out in circumstances like this as you could otherwise argue it hasn't lasted a reasonable amount of time, which can be claimed for up to 6 years since purchase with your consumer rights.
