Brodit mobile holder

Featured Replies

Brodit

Seems like a bad place to put the phone :(

Any experience with better solutions? I wish I could modify something, so it could be placed on the side of the touch screen :)

Brodit did an A pillar mount for earlier versions, will a 2017 one not fit?

Don't know. I guess not, since they made one for the 2018 model

Hi

This may help. I have had one fitted on my car for about four months now and it has held the phone well.Never dropped off. There is an area just left of the screen that is flat enough to stick the holder on. Got it from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019DCFE6K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

I had one of those won't fit the new model.
Fair enough.

I live in Denmark and it's not working on Android here :(
They say it's because they can't/wan't make the translation of the voicecommands, but why the hell can't I use it in english?

I live in FInland and suffer from same thing. You can install it through apkmirror. Works great, except that voice command lady answers using english or finnish randomly. Also if you change your phone to english the google assistant works also.

Ok I will try it Friday :)
And USB has to be connected right? Why can't this work via Bluetooth alone?

Yes, usb has to be connected, using high quality cable. I don't know the exact reason why bt is not enough, i guess bandwidth, reliability, power use of the phone. Using the cable is semi ok, the biggest problem is that there is no good place to put the phone (galaxy s8) Arm rest shelf is too small, in cup holder the cable is in the way, front of the gear stick compartment is oddly shape, but i have made a insert that has slot for the phone it works almost perfect. I have ka+ loaner and it has perfect shelf for phone, even with the cable phone fits.

Google just came out with wifi option that works with couple jvc and kenwood headunits.
