Are there any differences between connecting an iPhone and an android operated phone to Sync 2? I think you can message from sync with and android phone connected but that’s about all I know.

I’m  contemplating moving to android from iPhone.

I think android has always allowed bluetooth connection and apple by cable. That's my understanding.

My iPhone connects through bluetooth. Allows me to read or listen to messages and make calls etc through sync.

Yeah. Plays music from iPhone library or Spotify.

I only ever connected via bluetooth with Android and the wife connected her Apple device via cable. The cable device would always override the BT connection when playing music. I could read/listen to texts and pretty sure I could send preset responses using my android device via sync. It’s not until you get android auto on Sync3 that you can dictate messages though.

As I said earlier. My iPhone connects to sync over bluetooth. Allowing me to make calls and have sync display or read out text messages.
