Woods1997
Bought a zetec s red edition last week and ever since the brakes have been squealing whenever i tap the brake. Rang the ford dealership and they said do 100 miles and if it's still happening give us a call. I'm currently at 260 miles on the trip and they're exactly the same, are they fine to be sorted on the warranty?
dansallis
What age is the car? How many miles has it done total? Modern brakes tend to squeak/squeal when the pad thickness is running low. If its not that then take it into Ford, they will deal with it for free since it is well within warranty and is not normal wear and tear (providing the brake pads aren't worn out). It's 2016, 20k miles on the clock.
Mavroz
Aren't discs and pads wear items?

Not a problem with the brakes themselves it's the ***** squeal everytime I touch the brakes, it's ear piercing.
Mavroz
Yes, maybe the pads and discs are worn and not releasing as they should. If you take the car in I reckon the response will be that the discs and or pads need changing. That will be their first port of call. Ad@m
At 20K miles it is more than likely the pads are low and need to be changed.
