Faulty Fuel Gauge, Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope someone can help.

A month ago my 2014 Ford Fiesta Eco Boost broke down due to a faulty fuel pump. This was replaced at the garage and a day after picking the car up i noticed that the fuel gauge was reading full,  i thought the wife had suddenly found the fuel cap and put some full in so thought nothing of it.As the week past a noticed that the gauge was still reading full and after speaking to my wife, confirmed that she had in fact not put any fuel in either (shock). It took about 3/4 of a tank to fill and continued to show full throughout the week so i reported it to the garage. they took the vehicle back in and confirmed a faulty fuel pump, and i picked the car up again. the fuel gauge was reading half so i thought no more of it.

After a few days it started to show full again, put it back into the garage and they say it is a separate fault that requires a fault clearing and resetting. they are telling me it is a common fault and will cost about £360 to fix! I can't seem to find any info on this "common" fault?

Anyone had similar issues?

Kind regards,

There's quite a bit of info on Google and you tube about stuck Ford fuel gauges.

I know that don't answer your question but may be worth looking again.

Or buy a ODB machine and see if it gives a fault code then you have something to go on.
