Hi,

I have seen so many posts on this matter but they seem to be with the older Ford Fiestas. I recently bought a 'All new ford fiesta zetec' but I cant seem to work the automatic windscreen wipers at all? Can someone help me out? I have tried flicking the wipers to the first option before starting the car, I'm not sure if thats completely wrong or???

Does the Zetec have auto wipers now?

There's no need to switch them on before the ignition.  When it starts raining, push the switch up one notch and then just leave it there.  You can adjust the sensitivity of the wipers (if they're wiping too much or too little) with the little lever on top of the wiper stalk.

Just had a look at the spec it's not standard on a zetec,  but is available as part of the Driver assistance pack which is not available on Zetec

I'd rather think of them as "intelligent" intermittant wipers - although some times I do wonder

If do you have them their is a slider on the edge of the wiper stalk which adjusts the sensitivity.

I have these on my 2011 Titanium when the other person had my car from new and had a lot of stuff on it.

Cant say i like them that much as Tiexen says there hit and miss as goes on the rain on the screen,i had mine checked and said fine.

Same with my 2013 Titanium very temperamental. The same with stop/start depends what mood the car is in 😂

Titanium gets auto wipers and lights as standard...it was the USP of the Titanium a few years back lol.

Stop start depends on battery condition and lots of other factors but the wipers should work consistently.  The only time mine don't work well is light 'sparse' rain that seems to hit half the screen before one drop hits the sensor lol.

Mine usually work fine but they can be a bit of a pain in light rain.

my previous fiesta hade the auto wipers as part of the Technology Pack available on Zetec at the time. I found them unreliable and often you could  not get the sensitivity right on the adjustment, it was like some days each few minutes I was altering the sensitivity again.

My current Fiesta Style has intermittent wipers with a manual time lag adjustment wheel. I have found this much better
