Boot open warning mk7 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Little bit confused, just installed a subwoofer and new front speakers in my 2008 fiesta, put the door cards back on and started the car up to see the “boot open” message. Went to check the boot and it was firmly shut however the message stayed and comes up constantly while driving, keeping my footwell lights on all the time. What could be causing this?

Is the sub in the boot? If so my guess is you have disturbed the wiring to the boot latch it's gone open circuit so can't tell if the boot is shut.

Yes the sub is in the boot, it was installed a couple days before the speakers in the doors and the boot was fine before the speakers went in, if it is the boot latch am I looking at getting a new part to replace it?
