Broken stud, replaceable?

Featured Replies

So on the air pipe in the middle towards the back there is a plastic mount which is screwed into the engine (circled in pic), on my fiesta this bolt has snapped just above the engine below the plastic bracket

Can the stud be easily removed/replaced from the engine? It looks like it may just be a 10mm bolt head but haven't tried anything yet before being sure...

Well, yes, but it depends on access. Will a stud remover have enough meat to grip, can it be drilled and a reverse stud remover used.

Is it really worth the effort, for a plastic pipe, You could just cable tie it back.

I have the same stud broken on my engine and need the part number if any one knows please. I do not think you will have a problem removing the old one as it has a 10mm nut below the stud part so should just unscrew as would think the nut is fixed.

need to do this job soon
