Engine malfunction

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have a 2010 fiesta, the other month I was driving and ‘Engine malfunction, service now’ came on the dash randomly causing the car to stall. This also happened on the way to the garage, been told it was faulty battery then the fuel filter and now I have been told it is the fuel regulator. Just wondering if anybody could please help as this is annoying and becoming costly. The car seems to start again after an hour or so.

Not the best with cars so would have to keep it simple sorry.

Thanks

Did you find out what was wrong? My cars had the exact same problem

He only posted this an hour ago asking for help, doubt he would find out in that time lol. EDIT: I've just read through your topic and it's not the same issue we're having here. You need to take your car into a garage to get it sorted, it's not something that can be diagnosed over a forum really.

Anyway, the stuff that the garage has changed does seem logical to the fault and I'm assuming they've run a diagnostics test. Lack of pressure in fuel lines would lead to the car stalling, which could be the regulator, pump or bad injectors (which is what I'd edge my bets on). Then again I've not seen the car, so the garage probably knows better.

No not found out yet ha.

The cheaper options seems to be the injectors so I’m going to suggest that to the garage first

I don’t know if this helps but it seems to cut out after about half hour of driving and it’s mainly when I’ve stopped at traffic lights and ready to set off again.
