Hi guys, just looking for advise, I’ve had my car a couple of weeks now and feel like when pulling away at low revs there is a judder which sort of feels like wheelspin, I have no other symptoms that I’ve read about such as erratic gear indicator etc.

I must add that the wheels done actually spin and it feels like a shudder in first and second gear. This doesn’t happen all the time and I’m unsure if it’s simply an error on my behalf

Sounds like a dying clutch?  Or a faulty traction control system.

When you are climbing a hill, do the revs climb while speed falls?

When you are next on a clear, empty road, get up to a reasonable speed in 4th gear (40 mph or so) then drop back into 2nd.  If you don't headbutt the steering wheel as the engine brakes, the clutch may be on its way out!

The judder is a well known issue on the Powershift, covered under extended warranty, take it into the dealer.

Thanks for the reply’s, I should of said at the start this was the powershift and has only done 20k so surely not the clutch within?

does that judder only really effect the 1st and 2nd gears intermittently too?

The warranty extension is only for the tcm module. Is your car still under the original 3year warranty.

It is just outside as far as I know, car has just had it’s first MOT prior to be buying it a few weeks back. So assuming that means just outside, also does the judder feel almost like wheel spin does when it’s juddering for grip? Tyres are absolutely fine I must add. Just trying to find out if the issue I experience is in fact the problem

Does sound like clutch judder, take it back from where you bought it and get them to check it over. Was it a ford dealer?

It was an evans Halshaw but a Vauxhall one, it’s actually going in for the air con so will get them to look then however I’ve asked to take it to a ford branch.

Make sure you're all over EH, they have a rep for being rather S%$T when it comes to customer service and if you do have the infamous Powershift DCT250 issue it should be covered by warranty even if the whole transmission needs to be replaced.
