seat slides halfway back only

Hi, I've got a 2016 fiesta zetec s, the other day I went to move my passenger seat forward and the adjuster bar "clunked" and became loose. I took it to ford and they said the bar has came off the runner clips and is not covered under warranty due to any part being broken, if I wanted it repaired it would cost £90.

I took the car away and connected the bar to the clips myself, the seat slides forward but only slides back half way up the runner, any ideas why?

The Mrs last fiesta did this twice, either a clip had broken or a release wire snapped. It was under warranty so was done foc. 

If you have paid someone to do it, take it back and tell them it doesn't work still.
