Ecoboost 1.0 rought start

Featured Replies

Hi all,

On my Fiesta Mk8 1.0 Ecoboost (125) it seems that when you start the engine sometimes it runs really rough for about 5 seconds. The rpm's go up and down a bit (between 900 and 1100) and it almost feels like two cylinders start. It doesn't happen all the time, and both when the engine is hot and cold. I didn't really recognize this from my previous Fiesta (1.0 Ecoboost 140).

Anyone else recognizes this behaviour? After the 5 seconds it just runs perfectly smooth, so I'm guessing it might be something at start-up where the computer follows a certain procedure. I know the Ecoboost has a sort of cleaning cycle where it opens both ports at once.. Else a visit to the dealer might be the way.
