Major Electrical Failure

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Wondered if anyone could be of any help, my fiesta went a bit nuts today - I assume it's the heat?

Started with the low tyre pressure warning coming on even though the tyres were fine...
...after I pulled up, I found that:-

  • my keys no longer lock/unlock the car,
  • the door lock buttons no longer work
  • the stereo only plays basic radio and has no other function anymore
  • USB port is dead
  • airbags are offline
  • steering wheel controls are dead
  • automatic lights don't work anymore
  • dashboard has defaulted to km and km/hr (it was miles before)
  • dashboard doesnt show mpg anymore or anything like that...

Anyone have any ideas where i can start to try and locate an issue here? I assume the onboard computer is to blame...?

Any help would be very grateful.

Thanks all,

Simon

Check Your battery, I suspect you are still one  the original it could be goosed. Modern cars with all the toys are very heavy on electrics get it checked out not with just a multi meter but a proper load test.
