Changing Man
Hi all. First time here and a first time (2 weeks ago) Mondeo owner so be gentle please. Bought a 15 plate one private owner 20k Titanium 2ltr Diesel just over 2 weeks ago and just today realised that I can't actually unlock or lock the car using the door handles with the key in my pocket. I have to use the remote to lock and unlock. No issues using the remote, no starting issues etc but I would like to know why I have this issue and what I need to do to rectify it if possible. Apart from that I'm loving the car. Done 1600 miles in it and she's not missed a beat and has given me 53mpg. As far as I can tell she's 100% standard and hasn't been modified in any way. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. Cheers 👍🏻
Frembrit
I assume that this is a MK5 and not a very very late registered MK4.5.... I'm not too familiar with the MK5 but if they are like the MK4.5 then not all the models come with keyless entry, which means you need to use the remote fob to lock and unlock. Just found an early brochure for the MK5 that I'd downloaded and according to this, keyless entry was an optional extra on the Titanium but keyless start was standard fit. To find what your car came with, you can register for free on the Ford Etis site here...http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do and enter your reg number. Hi Dave, I have gone on the etis form site but when I entered the reg of my car it does not give me the full live of the car specs. It only tells me what the gearbox is, the colour and the model designation (2.0 tdci 16 v tit x). It doe not show that it is an estate car. How can I get the full list as I would like to see what make of towbar is fitted so as I may get a towball for it. Many thanks (also) Dave Edited August 4, 2018 by dghackett Missed information
Frembrit
Hi Dave, You need to register (it's free) and then you can expand the list by clicking the + signs This was from a car on auto trader.

dghackett
Many Many Thanks. It works perfect. The strange thing is that the car has features that are delete from the new list so must have been fitted since and the one I wanted is a delete item but has the tow bar fitted but unable to see the make of it. 😞
