Focus57 Posted August 9, 2018 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Got talking someone who,s a turbo specialist...was telling him that its a good thing that ford don't use 1.6tdci unit anymore as lots of problems...he then tells me the latest unit 1.5tdci is a ***** Renault unit ?? alexp999 Posted August 9, 2018 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Just because displacement is the same doesn't mean its the same engine. The Ford 1.5 TDCi, is a "fork" of the design of the 1.6 TDCi/HDI jointly developed with PSA (Peugeot). PSA continued to develop it as a 1.6, Ford downsized, and it's now only a Ford engine, (although probably the odd part still the same as the 1.6 PSA).
