Dee_82
it is a big issue, but so is replacing just a single injector or your fuel pump ripping itself apart. in fact, whilst the EGR is more likely to fowl then anything else, the cost to fix it is relatively low when compared to fixing injectors and fuel pumps. Its prudent to carry out preventative maintenance on these things,. all it takes is a single piece of crap to get stuck someplace to attract other crap and cause a restriction. But the bigger problem with injectors is Lube, diesels use low sulphur fuel. which is just another way of saying low lube fuel. moving parts wear out, especially when under 26,000 PSI. you really dont want to have to replace4 injectors at £200 a pop and a fuel pump, plus the associated fuel rail thats supposed to be replaced.
