Abby1998
My Car is a 61 plate, Ford Fiesta Studio, 1.4l Diesel. I've owned for 18 months before I've started having an issue with an Engine Malfunction warning. The Car was looked at by a garage and there is no visible issues with the engine itself. The Engine Malfunction light comes on every couple of days but often knocks itself off in the same journey (around 8 miles). There is some noticeable idling of the car but it is possible to drive home safely despite the idling. Every time the car has been to the garage the warning is no longer showing and the car has not stored any codes after the light has been on. The very first time this occurred I rang my breakdown company, and the individual who came out fiddled with some connectors that had come loose. He said that the diesel engine will often vibrate them loose which can cause the warning light to come on. But I do not know what exactly he did and the garage couldn't see anything that was loose. Any ideas? The Car has only done 49000 miles and has had no other issues.
