Brake Hoses, Crush Washers?

Ok, this may sound like a stupid question. I brought a set of some after market braided hoses for my Mk5 fiesta zetec s. The pack arrived with only 4 copper crush washers. I would assume that you need one at each end, therefore, 8 needed? 

If that's not the case which end needs the crush washer?
