Hi there,

My name is Jordan, I'm 26 from Lisburn in Northern Ireland.  I picked my ST up from a Trust Ford branch next door to my work in Belfast.  The car was originally 40 odd miles away in another dealer, but they brought it down for me to test drive.  Naturally, as I'm sure most of you will agree, as soon as I drove it I fell in love.  The natural blow off sound, the heated Recaros and the goes of her sold herself.  So I got everything sorted with them and picked her up the next day.  I haven't got too much done to her as of yet, few little bits like the CEUK engine bay and tailgate dress up kit, CEUK reverse bulbs, which one has already died on me and I'm waiting for my replacement, MK8 Fiesta stubby aerial and Focus mist washer jets. Oh and the driver side footwell has a LED bulb, where the passenger side doesn't  couldn't find the other bulb.

My previous car was a 2015 Seat Ibiza FR, majority of the mods I did myself, like the hands on approach.  I'll add some photos of the old and new.  Feel free to comment, I know everything is low key atm but things will be done .  By the way, the roof lining in the Ibiza turned out so much better than that picture shows .

Looks great 👍

Same as the black ST-2 I've just bought (and my first mod was to replace the aerial too!).

Thanks mate, yeah mines an ST-2 as well.

I know, imagine being at the meeting where someone said, “yano what, to top of this great looking hot hatch, why don’t we add a riding crop to the roof?” Bizarre like, but for bang on a tenner, easily sorted.

Replacement reverse light bulbs arrived this morning, about time if you ask me, however they sent out two and only one died so maybe worth the wait. Get these fitted in the next day or two:laugh:

I go for autobeam when I'd want to upgrade my lights. Really like some of those pics. Strange one also to paint the calipers pink.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm convinced about the whole upgrading lights thing, definitely number plate lights, but I haven't done those yet.  I only done the reverse lights cause they seemed cool. Thanks mate, haha the callipers looked awesome in behind my matt black Rota Grids, plus the pink was shocking, that pic makes it look like a dull pink.

Okay, so after I posted a while back about being able to make your own induction kit for £100, that’s actually proved pretty difficult, mainly due to the fact that J1 Automotive have, and I’ve been quoted this by two different sellers, “dropped of the face of the earth”. So this made it a little harder, and I absolutely refuse to pay Airtec £80, so I’ve sourced one on eBay, £40 delivered. Should be here Monday 😁

Down to work again this morning to wash and try sort out the swirl marks that the previous owner has embedded into the paint :hang: I'm getting there.

So the car is all washed again for about 20 mins, but I've also taken the engine cover off and have sanded down and currently have two coats of white primer on.  It actually looks so good in white, but it won't be staying that colour lol.

One of the guys at work dropped it on me that a package had arrived.  Ordered very late on Thursday night, posted Friday delivered Saturday.  MAF housing has arrived :D.

Got my air filter fitted on Sunday, very very easy fit, changed the air flow sensor from the one supplied to the one that was already fitted on the Fiesta, as I knew it already worked.  Will be changing the intake pipe at some point and removing the airbox to fit a cage, also at some point.

The dump that comes out of this car now is brutal, so so so so gooood.

You'd have to be very careful washing as ford use soft paint. I machine polished mine and after a few months I'm starting to see holograms appearing. I use a microfiber wash mitt as a lambs wool is hard to maintain.

Aye the wee mushroom filter does the job rightly, I was thinking of changing to a RAMAIR, as unfortunately the greeny colour doesn't match with the colours I am going for, but to be honest I might just keep it. I don't have a video, but I'd be happy to sort one out :)

I've been hand working a glaze polish into it for the last few weeks.  What doesn't help is the rain here, the polish can't get a chance to settle into the paintwork.  It's not too bad, at work I can use the valet bays over the weekend, but once it's done and the car is pulled out its a nightmare.  Sure what can you do, I think I'll glaze, hit it with some super resin and then rapid detail, as the swirls are pretty deep.  I've managed to make a good start on them and they are coming out slowly, so I just need to keep going.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was in Ford on Saturday as my mum was picking up her new MK8 ST Line.  She liked mine and thought she'd swap her DS5 for the new Fiesta. Anyway, I told her to go to the guy I bought mine from, and she did, surprisingly, yano the way mums never listen.  So I went in to see the car as she was picking it up, and the guy had told me that he was going to get me a referral cheque for £50 which is lovely, but as we were outside and looking round the car for her to drive off in, the sales guy looked at me and told me he had a present for me, came out holding wind deflectors he had taken from a trade in and was going to put on his company car, but was told by his boss he wasn't allowed. So he gave them to me, well chuffed!!

A nice touch, definitely.  Can safely say I was chuffed.  They are ClimAir ones too, so it's saved me £30-35 plus a £50 referral for her buying from him, so it was a good weekend :D

Engine cover pretty much finished.  Just need to get the red pinstripe for the cut out.  Pretty chuffed with it, took a long time to get done, but I'd rather it was right than a sight.

The colour when fitted is a little off, but that's mainly due to bad light and the flash of the phone camera.

Looks very nice. In the second last picture I noticed a bit of a hazy look where the light was shining on. Did you polish it after? Still the finish and depth of the paint looks good.
