As we dont have an ST sub-forum I thought it would be interesting to see how many other Fiesta ST owners are in FOC and which variants they own.

I've made voter names public now so no need to reply with your votes.

Any chance of making this poll sticky for a while to get a decent number of responses?

I'm planning on getting a mk6 ST in probably 2 years due to the governments plans to charge diesel cars older than 2015 and really old petrols in 2021. My mk6 fiesta zetec s 1.6 TDCi is part of the charge however the mk6 ST isn't. Hopefully then my mileage might reduce a lot so the cost for petrol won't be much.

My zetec s DSC_0488.thumb.JPG.5023b62b2f9ced6f51d12d611aa14374.JPG_20180612_222223.thumb.JPG.bcf5b7bc4ba8f32f26a213ca8c537097.JPG

STs I've seen. Kind of moving towards white as I could paint the front plastics gloss black. Screenshot_20181024-210943.thumb.png.7e86f9a050c1cfc5403b6eb3e0f0c808.pngScreenshot_20181028-101803.thumb.png.f554e731122cfead8ce01e24d08d18e8.png

Not a fan of this one but each to their own. Screenshot_20181024-211128.thumb.png.4b84e3eec20681fee9dbea762f02bdc6.png

I was going to say if you're not getting an ST for two years then those two won't still be for sale, but in the case of the second one, I'm not so sure! 🤪

Yeah just was having a look at them to see what they are going for. A good one is going for around £3000 with decent mileage. It will be a jump in running cost. My zetec s is £30 tax and average around 52mpg. £20 of diesel lasts me around 2 weeks. The ST Road tax has moved up to £250 and I'd probably average 25 - 30mpg. If I travel the same like now it probably will be £20 a week.

@zain611 If you look at it that way, you'll never buy one.  Bite the bullet and get it bought

Completely agree with this!!

Petrol and tax will be higher still in 2 years...get one now!

Yeah honestly I want to keep the zetec s and get it mapped to around 120hp (30+hp) but because of this talk about charging old diesels in London £12.50 a day in 2021 I don't see the point mapping it. Want to keep it till around 2020 before the charge will take place and before the value decreases on these cars. I just bought my zetec s last year so don't really want to sell it right away lol.

The 2 litre engine in the mk6 ST isn't bad compared to other 2 litre cars which pulls me towards it. Also in 2 years hopefully I'll be working full time so might want to be saving all my money to put towards a house. The ST from my calculations I'd pay around £2000 a year for insurance and running costs.

I fell in love with the Mk7 ST in the showroom the day I picked up my Zetec. 4 years later I got the ST. No rush. ☺️

@TimST2 This isn't the motivation we're looking for, you're supposed to influence the decision to buy an ST, not defer it

@zain611 If it helps, there is a lovely Colorado Red one for sale in Northern Ireland, £1700 grooved uprated discs, compomotive alloys I think, lowered slightly and would be a cracking drive home for you.  Get it bought :D:D

Bought last year!?  I'm on my 6th car of this year already...  The value has already been lost on diesels...I'm still after a facelift Focus TitX...can easily find several 1.5TDCi's well within my budget, yet the 1.0 EcoBoosts are at least a grand more expensive when compared to identical specs!   The price of diesel fuel is also utterly ridiculous now, there's 8ppl difference around here currently!

If you want to map the ZS instead, better to do it sooner rather than wait, so you'll get the most out of it.

Lol I don't want to sell it quickly because of its rarity. You don't see many mk6 diesel zetec s with these specs. Also I don't work full time so would have to ask my parents to put some money towards the car. The money I'd get from selling I can put towards the insurance and hopefully towards the cost of the new car as insurance is thankfully getting lower for me.

It's a hard one with the remap. Steve at hdi tuning recently updated his website saying he now has a workshop open in Bristol where you can get the car mapped there for £200. I don't think he has a rolling road but he'd road test the car and tune it to how suitable it is. Also might be pointless if I get an ST with its 8 second to 60mph time as its already more powerful.

12 voters so far. There must be more Fiesta ST owners here?

Out of interest, is anyone a member of any ST forums? I joined ST-OC as well as FOC when I got mine, but that seems like it's dying 🙁

It's a shame that one's not compatible with Tapatalk (why I joined ST-OC). No big deal, FOC has turned out to be a really active forum with some great membership discounts.

3 years and 8 months and just under 29,000 miles of ownership of my Mk7 ST3 and it's still brings smile to me when driving.

I had been looking at switching to the Mk8 ST but it just didn't come at the right time and was too costly in comparison to the Mk7.
