Jtom
Hi my 2010 1.4 tdci has just illuminated the power train warning light whilst travelling up a nearby hill. The light went off after a restart, It’s done 110k with full dealer history. Will a generic code reader reveal the cause or is there a common problem behind it ? Thanks

If so, it's worth a try. If not, go straight for FORScan, that'll pick up far more than a generic scanner. Could be as simple as needing a fuel filter change if you want to try that before spending out on diagnostics. Also worth listening for a boost leak (whistle/squeak) while under load pulling uphill as well.
