Hi all, have a hesitation around 1800rpm ,had it in Ford and they can't find anything wrong, so I'll take matters into my own hands now, unplugged the air flow sensor went for a drive and it's a different car no hesitation and it seems to review more freely as well.plugged sensor back in and hesitation comes back, so had a geniune airflow sensor replaced and no change , had the loom inspected / tested no faults there.

So why is it when it's unplugged it runs lovely and has a hesitation when plugged in.

Please help

The PCM just runs a standard 'safe' map with the EGR unplugged.  To keep it safe, it overfuels rather than underfuelling which can cause engine damage.  The proper map keeps fuelling as low as possible for fewer emissions.  The overfuelling will make the engine run better, but it doesn't mean that it's the EGR at fault.

Have you checked the EGR and air doser operation on live data with Forscan or similar?

Yes...and I fully meant MAF each time I wrote EGR in that post...  My brain must have been frazzled that morning!
