Used to build Airfix aircraft models when I was a lad (a long long time ago now), but never achieved that sort of standard. Very nice indeed!👍

Nice Lancaster Ian.
Yep, I build model kits (mostly Airfix) and have plenty of completed kits sitting on shelves etc.

Just looking at the current price of this model on the Airfix site - £36.99. I think the price range was from 2 bob up to 17/6 when I last built them!

Better than the weekly ones they advertise on TV.

Latest one is the Bismarck.

If you complete it then you'll pay out about £1200 for it. [emoji54]

Yeah, that sort of thing really annoys me,  like those instant loans at 1,294% apr or over 50 plans where people pay in more than they get back!😠

I haven't seen those polystyrene planes for years!!  Used to get them from airshows about 20 years ago...  Can you still buy them?

For some reason I always thought they were expensive, it was a rare treat to get one!

I am surprised you can still get them but yet again you can get anything off the interweb 😊

Dezwez, Airfix are re-releasing their Saturn V/Apollo model kits in a few months for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing by Armstrong and Aldrin.

As will I Dez. Expected release date is June for both the Saturn V and the Lunar Landing set.

Airfix have actually got some great releases this year, including some of the classic kits like Concorde and the Concorde prototype.

I need a lot more space to continue building models and displaying them. I've actually built 68 in just over 3 years and they vary in size. I usually opt for 1/72 scale kits but even some of the 1/144 scale kits I have built are quite large (airliners).
