Bodkin
Newbie here. Apologies if this is in the wrong place. Can anyone help a little old lady... My boot wont close, it’s like the catch isn’t working properly. So I go to shut it and the catch is permanently open, the lights stay on and it drains my battery. Any help appreciated. ali
TomsFocus
You could try a bit of spray grease in the boot latch mechanism. Otherwise it'll likely need the latch replacing but it's not an expensive or difficult job at a garage.
WES180
Can you tease the latch back out with a screwdriver or something so you can spray some lubricant in? WD40 is best to get it moving again but then it will need greasing once it's working as the WD40 strips off all the old grease. Once the latch is working properly the lights staying on problem should go away too. You may need a new unit though if it can't be freed up.
