Luke1989
Hiya guys just joined and new to this. Right have a problem so looking for advice. A little while ago the car was miss firing and going into limp mode. Took it to garage they said glow plugs to be changed (all 4) if i remember rightly at a cost of a thousand pound. Couldnt afford to do all of them in one go so he suggested do one see how i get on but the rest would need doing. Anyway. Kept going into limp mode but after lifting the bonnet and playing around abit and restarting the engine its would be fine. Eventuall the turbo failed i presume. Make a hissing noise as if turbo isnt whirling. Kicking out black smoke reduced power and flashes engine malfuction. Im assuming i need to put a new turbo in where's the best place to obtain and fit etc as mot coming up soon and itll fail wont it?. Any advice or anyone had similar problems with a different outcome. Talk to me please. Stuck as what to do and think ill get my pants pulled down as im not very good with cars. I drive diggers thats as mechanical as i get lol. TDCiST
Before looking at the turbo, check the hoses around it and any intercooler hoses for splits or holes. Certainly cheaper to start there than a turbo
