86 Escort Cabby

Hi All,

New member here, I've got a 1.6 Escort cabriolet with a few issues, and I could do with some advice.

The gearchange is slack as hell, and I've read in a few places its worth putting the puma gear linkage in as its tighter, is this an easy swap? Or am I better off doing the bushes on my linkage?

Also the heater is dead, I've put in new dash controls and the fuses are ok.  Anyone know which resistor I need behind the dash and where I can get one?  Seems the most logical thing for it to be.  

Any guidance is appreciated!
