Evening all got a question for you all here, thought be interesting.

Out of all the cars you ever owned, which do you regret getting rid of the most?

My dad replied either a Cortina Mk3 or a Ford Granada Mk1.
me it would have too be my first Ford probe.

Let's make it even more interesting shall we, out of the cars that you were offered in the past, which one of those of offers cars do you wish you took and bought.

I was offered a Ford Granada for a £1000 pounds, it was Ghia and it was a 2.0 pinto block same as the Ford Sierra, lovely looking car and I'm big fan of the Ford Granada. biggrin.gif

Just wish I had more money and more time and I regret not jumping for it. frown.gif

I regret getting rid of my vauxhall cavalier Sri MK2  cracking car that whopped the xr3i boys every time. Was so reliable and still managed 40+ mpg on a good day.

I miss my first car it was 2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 petrol, was a brilliant little car never failed me started every time and cheap parts..... then I wrote it off 😂

I remember the day my dad got rid of his Toyota celica GT he regrets getting rid of that car.

I think the only car I regret not buying was my friends dads 2004 blue R32 offered to sell me it for a very good price aswell but couldn’t get insured on it.

So yeah that’s it, got a 2016 Fiesta Zetec S now and absolutely love it! 🚗

@MattB95 didn't know the R32s were made then I thought they were built in the 90s.

I've only owned 2 cars. Previous and first car was a Peugeot 107 1 litre petrol. Good on fuel and only £20 road tax. Parts were cheap. I remember paying £37 for a clutch kit. Only picture I have that got transferred over to my new phone. IMG-20170315-WA0000.thumb.jpeg.42f64dd7e7ec5c04eefc982ff9865ba9.jpeg

Current car I have is a mk6.5 fiesta zetec s 1.6 TDCI. Sporty version but as cheap to run as the Peugeot but faster. The sporty suspension in the fiesta makes it fun going around corners but it doesn't sound exciting with the tractor sound you have to hear. The Peugeots 3 cylinder engine had a cool sporty sound even though it was slow.

Most regret getting rid of - could list a few but probably a toss up between my MG Midget back in the 70's, or more recently my Audi A3

Most regret not buying - I once had a chance to buy an Austin Healey 3000 for £250 but was rather skint at the time😢

I regret not buying a Focus RS when I was looking at them around 5 or 6 yrs ago. You could pick one up then for around £6000. I seriously missed a good investment opportunity there!🙁

I regret selling 2 GTi6s (separately) for less than a grand each... they're now going for 3 times that!

Cant say I'd actually want any of my previous 30+ cars back to drive though...it's just the money lol...

Going back on this two cars I regret getting rid of was my first Ford Probe GTV6 and the Rover 75/ZT Hybrid, 75 interior MG ZT exterior trim and bumpers.

Had my first Ford probe at 14 years old, my old man originally bought too safe repair and sell, how ever I liked it so much I begged him too keep it, on my 14th birthday the  keys were handed too me for 7 years I owned her, Only problem I couldn't afford the insurance and tin worm had started too get too her so she was scrapped, Only I could do was drive it around the private trading estate which is down the road from me so did get used but not enough.

Since then I always said if I bought  other one I'll do everything I can possibly can too maintain it and keep as long as possible.

Next is a completely different car altogether yes a Rover 75 Diesel by BMW before Rover went burst.

The diesel engines in these bomb proof and very reliable unlike the K-series engines.

6 years ownership and travelled too many places including the Bevington tank museum and many shows, made quite  few friend in the Rover cycle during meets and fixing cars.

She met her fate how ever last yeah when she was scrapped, everything started going one after other couldn't' justify the cost so off it went.

The only car I actually regret buying was a 1994 L plate Escort 1.3L.
From the get-go it had issues. It was purchased from an indy dealer and it had not been valeted.
Drove it off the forecourt and slowed down for the junction and it cut out when I put the clutch down. Next junction it did the same again. Thought it was due to the lack of petrol in it so filled up at the Shell station around the corner.
Drove away from the petrol station and got to a roundabout, it stalled again.
Took it to my friend and he adjusted something and it was fine.
A few months later the oil light came on and it immediately started making grinding sounds.
Turns out someone who had owned it before had run it dry of oil so caused major damage to the engine which wasn't audible until the oil level dropped enough.
Had to scrap it.

The car I regret letting go was a G plate Mk2 1.6 Golf. When the clutch went on it I had to let it sit on the drive due to being unemployed at the time and not being able to afford the repairs.
It sat on the drive for about 5 months but ended up having to be scrapped because water had gotten into it from somewhere, flooded the footwells and made the interior very mouldy.
