Cone filter install

I have a 09 fiesta style and I'm trying to install a cone filter. There seems to be a line leading from filter box to Engine, does anyone know what this is and (if) how to remove it?

A line? Should that say pipe? What engine do you have, 1.25?

I'm not familiar with 09 fiestas, but making a few assumptions - If your engine bay is anything like the image below, typically the cone filter will attach to the clamp circled in red, it should come with a MAF sensor housing (that little connection at the top right of my amazing drawing skills).

If yours come with this tubing, it may all be detached from the clamps, but there may be a idle air control hose (??) which would also need to be unclipped before you rip the bugger out. (Highlighted Blue because that might not be right)

My engine has no MAF. What I'm talking about is the pipe going from the centre of the engine then off to the right towards and under the filter

It's an oil breather hose.  Has a clip on the airbox end that you have to squeeze together to remove.  You can't just remove it as it's illegal to vent oil vapour to atmosphere.  If you've bought an induction kit designed for your engine it should have an adapter for this.  If not you'll have to find another way around it.
