2009 Ford Ranger CV Boots...

Featured Replies

Hi

Whilst changing out the front brake pads last weekend, I noticed that the inner CV joint boot on the drivers side was completely torn so am looking to replace it.  However, I don't seem to be able to find an inner boot anywhere....lots of places list the outer boot, but no inners.

Are they the same boot, or do I need a specific sized one for the inner compared to the outer?

Also, can anyone tell me if there is anything special I need to take into account when removing the front drive shafts?  I've done CVs on standard cars before, but not on a 4x4, and I was wondering if there was anything special regarding the 4x4 aspect or the locking hubs, etc?  The vehicle has AFW functionality if that helps?

One last thing, can I reuse the hub nut, or do I need to get a new one of those?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!
