velaskez
Hello everybody, so basically I read all over the internet that the gearbox on the mk7 does not have a drain plug for the gearbox oil...and got myself prepared for the tricks with a syringe and the reverse light switch. To cut to the chase, could someone explain to me if there is no drain plug...then what the hell is this?
stef123
It’s a detent pin, not a drain plug.
EdGasket
Some people say to remove it to drain the oil, is that so? Do you have to first select any gear or neutral?
EdGasket
Just found this by another poster: " The detent bolt must not be used for draining, as there is a sprung ball behind the hex-boss bolt, and gear alignment may be lost. ". Did you have any problem velaskez?
