Focus mk3 Door Module replacement?

Featured Replies

Hi

I believe to have a door module failure on my Titanium spec car given the symptoms:

Mirrors intermittently folding
Offside mirror indicator working intermittently
Driver window working intermittently

Fault codes: DTC U0199:00-2E and DTC U0140:00-2E

(I also have DTC U0236:00-2F but that is a long standing error code but the steering lock seems to work)

Can I just replace the door module with a second hand unit?  Do I need to have it programmed in (Can this be done with Forscan?)?

Thanks,

Hi, did you work this out if it needs to be coded?  My puddle lights and electric window buttons started flashing in sync on passenger side front and back.

Were is the module fit? I can't find any images or guides online as to where they go or guides on fitting.

Are you sure that is not a BCM problem?

Not yet, that's the next thing I may need to check. I'll try unplugging the connectors and checking for dirty pins.

I just noticed the fault last night as the mirrors were intermittently not folding.

you can see the puddle light flashing in sync..

Yea looks like it's BCM.. today.. non of the instrument cluster is working, radio... AC nothing is lit up. Car starts tho. Not looking forward to this bill.

Good luck, try to go for a late 2nd hand BCM if you can or you may be lucky and it may be salvageable.

And then protect the replacement from water ingress

So far been in Ford Dealership since Friday.. already went past the £85 diagnosis charge and they have asked for more time at £82ish per hour. (Permitted up to 3 hours) and so far.. the clearest thing I have from them is "the instrument cluster isn't dead" and "we are leaning towards the BCM"... The cluster wasn't the first fault so I personally didn't think that was dead anyway. They also wanted the time as they were looking to remove the dash? Then I have to pay to put it back together..

So far... Possibly up to £400 spent to know what I found here and from my friend from another dealership for nothing.
