Engine jerking when driving

Featured Replies

Hi, My Ranger 2.2 Diesel engine jerks while driving ( just like there's an intermittent misfire ), I've just cleaned the DPF and the EGR valve was seized so it's been taken off to free it, I've got no warning lights but the engine isn't running right, any ideas?

I don't have an answer I'm afraid, but I'm experiencing a similar issue with my 2016 2.2 TDCi - occasional juddering and misfiring, eml is illuminated, enters limp mode. Clears when you restart. It only happens infrequently, and can be after a long motorway drive or a shorter trip. Ocurred again yesterday after a few weeks of no symptoms

Puzzling.

Hi all

I have a 2012 2.2 and it is doing the same thing, have any of you found out what was the issue with yours ?

Thanks

Simon

Try unplugging the throttle position sensor connector near the throttle body and spray wd40 onto both parts of the connector. A dirty contact can cause this type of problem. The connector can get dirty because it is near the engine. Do not spray wd40 into the throttle body itself. And do not try cleaning the pins with a cotton bud as they may bend.

Hi all did anyone yet find the problem. My ranger does this as well jerks likes it's misfiring for a few minutes then back to normal and be fine for a few days until it does it again

I am experiencing the same with Peugeot 4007 2.2HDI 2011 which is the same engine, all of a sudden it starts to shake and even jerk at speeds 80-110 km/h and revs between 1500-2000, this is happening for years and no mechanic and diesel injection specialist was able to solve it. So it can work perfectly for days and month and then as a surprise it starts to tremble/shake more when accelerating, but also on constant speed of 110 km/h. There is no 'check engine' light or any error codes in ECU.

This is driving me completely crazy, I'd sell this car, but have concern that new owner will experience this soon and come back to me with compliant.

I am trying now to test injectors on test machine, but problem is that these Siemens Piezo are so rare that specialist do not have some test lists for it, code is 9659228880.

any ideas how to solve this?

I am experiencing similar issues with my 2014 SMax titanium 2.2 diesel.  And with a previous (same model 2009 I think).  I might take it to a nearby garage and try the throttle position sensor suggestion above.  If anyone has any further suggestions I’m all ears👂
