Identifying old Ford Coolant Expansion Tank

Hi,

I have a 1959 Frogeye that a previous owner has fitted a Ford Coolant Expansion tank to when they upgraded the engine. This was likely about 20 years ago. The tank is now cracked and needs replacing. Long shot I know but I was hoping someone here would be able to identify it and let me know if replacements are available.

It has the code 79FB 3K098 AA moulded on the side. Will try and attach photos although hard to show its shape properly.

Any help much appreciated.

I haven't been able to find anything with that part number I'm afraid.  I'd suggest it was already old when it was fitted 20 years ago though, most 'modern' ones have a smaller tank and the expansion cap rather than the flat cap.  I can't say as I've seen one like that on anything from the 80's onwards myself.

Has the Sprite got a replacement engine?  If so, do you know which car the engine came from?  Also don't suppose you still have the previous owners details as they may remember?

Do you have a picture of the one you are trying to identify?  the part number is a Fiesta, designed in Britain IIRC. and '79 is going to be mark 1.
