LondonFiesta
Can someone please confirm if they have anything in the way of a spacer on their spare between the wheel and the carpet? I have now got the spare wheel (15”), the foam with the tools in that sits under it, the carpet under that and a screw holding it all in that has a kind of cup attachment. I’m told that the floor carpet is reinforced but there seems to be some give between the floor carpet/board and the wheel/cup, I keep seeing other car pics where there’s a foam donut or foam ring. Think that was a mk6 thing. I got the foam tool holder that sits on top but now seem to have the wrong shaped retainer as the hole through the middle isn’t round yet the cup is (foam was part 2031635) and Ford parts told me that’s the right one for my car. My car didn’t come with a spare though. Am I missing something? Or is it right that there’s nothing between the wheel and the boot carpet! Thanks It’s a 2015 (64) car, this is the cup retainer. This is the foam ring

robbyvrs
There are at least 3 different retainer cups/ screws as i had all 3 when i fitted a spare to a previous Fiesta (trying to figure out which fitted) My last 5 Fiestas (MK6 - MK8) have all had 14" spare wheels even the factory optional ones
LondonFiesta
I think I’m going to have to give up and just get the full kit, seems the cheaper option than taking a punt on what will and won’t fit.Is there a parts diagram available online, like the one for BMW on oemparts? I spoke to Ford and it’s like dealing with robots. They can’t seem to tell me what I’m missing, even if I am actually missing anything at all. LondonFiesta
Here’s what I have in pictures. Same kit as the one recommended for the 2012-17 cars but I have a 15” wheel The kit here, shows I have what I need - is this it? Am I right I thinking nothing else required and the foam was a wild goose chase? https://www.fordpartsuk.com/ford-fiesta-14-spare-wheel-kit-from-05-11-2012-to-15-05-2017 Thanks The tool kit and piece of carpet The wheel and the retainer/cup
robbyvrs
Ah - you've got a skinny space saver, this could be why your carpet sinks as the tyre isn't as wide as 1 fitted to a 14" spare wheel

Should I be looking at a 14”, if so any ideas on part number or should I just go with that one on the Ford site? Thank you!

My spare is the factory optional 14" steel with a 175/65/14 tyre - different diameter and profile to standard but similar rolling radius If you look on eBay the ones listed for the MK7 and MK7,5 are the same 🙂 i picked up 1 for my last MK8 for £40 inc tool kit

You can find the 14" alloy on the ford website and use the part number to get it cheaper via eBay or find a used one. If you only get the alloy, just nip to your local tyre shop and get a used 175/65 R14 tyre and get it fitted. This is what I did for my MK8 and paid around £55-60 for the new rim and a used tyre (didn't quite catch the same good deal as robbyvrs 😉) when my dealer wanted around £100 for the same stuff.
JayLews
I've just been through this myself and I found this site - https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/59/no/0/1841/16642/72453/ - which lists the various bits and pieces.

tarbyonline
The proper spare from the factory is a full size 14” wheel (it has a 175/60 tyre from the top of my head). While that space saver may well be for a fiesta (and will fit) it’s from an older model (mk6?). I used a space saver from a focus (mk1) I think on my first mk7 - the wheel sizes are interchangeable, though personally I wouldn’t much fancy driving on it! The problem with getting one of these older space savers is the tyre will likely be quite old and replacements aren’t exactly easy to find! Theoretically you could also get away with a 14” alloy from a mk6 as well afaik.

That appears to be a site based in the US - are the parts and specs definitely 100% the same? Your dealer should be able to sell you a kit like this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152008597507

I’ll take a look tomorrow and double check though just in case - it’s been a while since I’ve been in there (should probably check the pressure while I’m there as well come to think of it)!

robbyvrs
I think the spacer is only needed if you fit a skinny space saver spare as it isn't as wide , my full size 14" doesn't need 1 and the carpet is flush

tarbyonline
Here you are, as supplied by the dealer on my ‘17 Zetec nav. No spacer and no need (or space) for one as the “cup” sits in the centre of the wheel. The tyre walls come up basically flush to the level of the boot floor.

The dealer supplied kit appears to have all the bits you need, except for the tyre. It's a 175/65 14. Any tyre place should be able to supply one of those as its a standard size, unlike the space savers.
LondonFiesta
It’s been a while but I finally fitted the correct spare. Problem with the dip in the boot has gone away. Thank you all for your help and to those using eBay, don’t get a space saver even if it says it’s for a fiesta!!
