Hi all.

The air bag light on my 2002 1.6 Focus is on. I have taken the car to be diagnosed by my mechanic who has cleared all the various faults.

But the air bag light refuses to go out he cannot understand why!!!

Does anyone know why?

Please help I want to sell the car and need to have the light out.

Many thanks in anticipation.

i had this once on an escort and the only way to clear the fault and the light was to replace the airbag on the steering wheel he cleared the cosde but with the airbag it will immediately light back up so you need the code to find out if its a sensor or the airbag itself simply clearing them wont work and dont be tempted to do what some do and remove the fuse or bulb

so am i to be honest check the wires under the seat are okay other than that im at a loss if all the fuses are okay sorry i cant be more help like i said when i had it with an escort it was easier as it was only an airbag on the wheel no passenger airbag so once i changed that it was fine

i would advise against replacing any parts without the correct diagonsis.

Check the airbag fuse first will be listed in the owners manual.

If the airbag light is on i find it impossible to beleave that there are no fault codes present.

Clearing the codes alone will not solve this fault.

I am sorry i cant be more help but please contact me if you need any more help

Yeah that sounds about right.

I know from experience that the clock spring is a common fault on these. but that would flag a code up.
